The Ultimate Trini Booze Cruise

Ultimate Promotions (a group of civic-minded entrepreneurs) along with RAMAJAY (a section of Trini Revellers) introduces the Ultimate Trini Booze Cruise, the Carnival Cruise event of the year, on Friday 10th February, aboard the new and luxurious Coral Vision. A special sailing time of 11pm to 3am has been negotiated especially for our patrons. As part of our vision for this premiere event we intend to raise funds for charity by donating part proceeds of ticket sales to help in the development of community projects.

All patrons will be treated as VIPs on board the Ultimate Trini Booze Cruise. Upon arrival our exclusive welcome cocktail aptly named the Trini Booze Passion Cocktail will be served. There will be prizes and giveaways through out the night festivities.  Music will be provided by the re known and ever versatile DJ Richard Simply Smooth of Ebony 104 and patrons can party in peace knowing that secured parking will be provided at port.

The Coral Vision is now the largest vessel currently docked in Trinidad. Its grand size offers extra stability so passengers experience totally smooth and motionless sailing. There are three decks with a bar on each deck.  Ample restrooms room facilities on each deck will satisfy that often overlooked component that ladies especially will appreciate.

Tickets are available at Cleve’s Records and Cellular Planet Outlets in San Juan, Chaganuas, West Mall, Broadway and Long Circular Mall. If you have a charity and wish to partner with us please contact elishaevents(at)yahoo.com or call 467-1556/356-4706/683-0001.

Dahved Levy Named Man of the Year!

CMM: NY…Top flight radio announcer and host of the #1 Arbitron rated Caribbean show, Caribbean Fever on 107.5 FM WBLS, Dahved Levy, has been named Man of the Year 2011, by the prestigious Great Men of Excellence Award in New York. Levy is in good company as he is being honored along with former Mayor of New York, David Dinkins who will receive the Legendary Lifetime Achievement Award. The late Percy Sutton will receive the Legacy Award which is also named for him.
The awards will be bestowed on the recipients on Saturday, November 19, 20011 at the Black Spectrum Theatre in Queens, NY.

The Great Men of Excellence Award is celebrated annually on International Men’s Day, November 19. International Men’s Day is a call for international collaboration to address the challenges and problems men face; for improving gender relations between men and women; for promoting gender equality; and for highlighting positive male role models.

Cathleen Williams, co-regional coordinator of the organization, put in a surprise call on Sunday November 14, to the studios of WBLS and made the announcement live. Although Levy was shocked at the honor, the award comes as no surprise however as Levy has reigned supreme on radio in the media capital of the world (New York) for close to twenty years.

Cathleen Williams stated, “Fans of Dahved stated repeatedly that they actually learn news from listening to his show. Dahved's program has been reported by people regardless of heritage as the one show they can listen to and learn from. His ability to address everything that is important to them, break it down and keep them informed about what is going on in the world was a major factor in the decision to make him man of the year. “

Consistency and excellence has been the wind in this ace announcer’s back. He has been number 1 in the Arbitron ratings on the airways of 107.5 FM WBLS for over a decade—an unparalleled feat. In fact Dahved’s (mainstream) radio program on 98.7 WRKS FM Kiss in New York debuted to a record 6.8 ratings in 1990.

CropOverTV.com Streaming Crop Over To The World

Crop Over 2011 is here again and as usual one of the questions I always have to answer the same question over and over again.
'How is Crop Over looking this year?'

It is partly my fault because I have worked my way into that situation. I have used this blog to post live from all kinds of events - Brewster's Road Crew, Wet Fete, Wadadah, Baje, Power x 4 and the list goes on and on.

This year I am glad to be part of a special project - CropOverTV.com

CropOverTV.com is a partnership between Nicholas King of Marniko Media, Selwyne Browne Of Get Bizzy Studios, Shamkoe Pile Of Skai Multimedia and Corey Graham 2.0 of Drenalin Productions. (more here)

The idea for the project came when I opened my mouth at the Crop Over Stakeholders session expressing how important it is for us to stream live events of the Crop Over Festival so that potential patrons and press can see the festival first had. Now to make a long story short, I got a call one morning asking just how streaming works. That planted the seed in my mind.
After talking to the others listed above it seemed like I wasn't the only one thinking about such a project.

We started to put things in place to make it happen, but once we 'soft launched' the domain CropOverTV.com. It took off and we are streaming.

Look out for us being a part of the solution this Crop Over Season.

Blak Kla’ Soyl in de House Music

Friday 20th May 2011
@ Surfer’s CafĂ©, Oistins
10pm- late
Blak Kla’ Soyl in de House Music

She will drum, sing, dance, display her visual artistic abilities while, stimulating your sense of rhythm.
Her father, the late El Verno Del Congo would always tell her to find a way to be her in every sense of the word.  He would say, “that she thinks she needs a big band, but all she needs is a way to execute her and her drum”

What Blak Kla’ Soyl enjoys most about this one woman presentation, is that she gets to rehearse every day.  For her, that is what is needed for a tight and responsive show.
Blak Kla’ Soyl, has made her music life more intense, as she know exactly how she wants to execute.  She has played a couple of gigs with DJ Promatics and DJ Scientist, where she has played the drums to House Music, but she is going to take house and drums to a whole new level.

Currently Blak Kla’ Soyl is working with CRS Music, and producer Nicholas Brancker, on her new album, and is looking forward to launching her singles. STAY TUNED

How Rum Shops Can Be A Part Of Your Christmas 2010 Schedule

It's that time of the year when everyone gets in a festive mood and the drinks come out. One of the more interesting events I am seeing on this year's calendar is this rum shop crawl. This is something I am definitely looking forward to.

Imagine it, if you can round up a crew of your friends. You are basically getting to spend the day liming with the people you care about and with a little rum to help the flow of conversation. We all know how much more exciting and open people can get when they have had a little bit of rum.

I should be a great experience to add on to your Christmas Calendar.

Hennessy Artistry 2010 Show -

It's been a little while since I have been out. Tonite I'm at the Hennessy Artistry show with Beres Hammond and Cocoa Tea headlining. Meanwhile in Trinidad you've got Junior Gong, Nas and Jah Cure on the same stage! Yeah that's big on.
If you wanna know what is going on around the Caribbea check out the www.caribbeanentertainmentsearch.info

This is just the second year of the Hennessy Artisty though and its been creating a bit of a stir in the Hennessy world.

Beres was always one of my favourite artiste. Last time he was on the show I had the pleasure of conducting an interview with the legend after the show.

Anyways Peter Coppin and Tammi just took the stage to get the show started.

ThreeSome Wednesday - Premium Drinks Free! - It's Back

It's that time of the year again, when Christmas is in the air and Threesome Wednesday rolls around once again. Last year this event evolved into an Ultra Premium Drinks experience which was quite a hit last year. The guys were happy with the flow of Johnnie Walker from the bar and the ladies throughly enjoyed their special tents with special cocktails designed for the festive season.

Personally, I have had the privilege of being a photographer at the past 4 Threesome Wednesdays events. It's been great watching the evolution but for me I love to meet Bajans or almost Bajan people who come from all over the world to spend Christmas in Barbados. You would never believe who you would run into, in a Threesome Wed event.

See you there!
