Looking across the party he has such a unique energy, everyone around him is laughing and having a good time. Who is this guy? Do you know him? Cause I don't lol.
On a more serious note I thought I would write about something that's been in my head for a while but I could not quite understand for a while. Some clarity is finally coming now.
Late last year I started along a line of thinking calling myself Corey Graham 2.0 to mimic the new web 2.0 buzz word that was going around. I am excited by the whole idea of taking myself to the cutting edge and this new phenomenon taking the internet by storm.
In a nutsell, web 2.0 is the technology that's making the social networking possible which is at the moment being lead by the 23 year old CEO Mark and his company Facebook.
So the internet is taking off as a social platform for us to connect on. LinkedIn is the new country club at your local golf course and flickr is there for me to connect with other photographers all over the work. Its like the photography club.
The social platforms are changing now we don't have to visit the local entertainment website or the local radio to hear about the latest event. Facebook has us all connected. Well at least in the Caribbean Barbados, Trinidad and Jamaica especially.
For Trinidad carnival this year people from all over the world can leave comments on the walls of their favourite fetes and interact with other people who will be at the event. A North American crew can connect with their friends from Jamaica and UK coming down for Trinidad Carnival.
Oh I can't forget MySpace .... Ask Alison Hinds .. She told you to meet her on myspace in song. Yeah all her fans, and yes you too, those guys that like her assssssk her any questions you like. Lol.
Seriously though you can jump on to myspace and listen you your artiste favourite tracks. Whether they are receiving major air play or none at all.
That's been on my mind.
