Thursday, May 26, 2011 Streaming Crop Over To The World

Crop Over 2011 is here again and as usual one of the questions I always have to answer the same question over and over again.
'How is Crop Over looking this year?'

It is partly my fault because I have worked my way into that situation. I have used this blog to post live from all kinds of events - Brewster's Road Crew, Wet Fete, Wadadah, Baje, Power x 4 and the list goes on and on.

This year I am glad to be part of a special project - is a partnership between Nicholas King of Marniko Media, Selwyne Browne Of Get Bizzy Studios, Shamkoe Pile Of Skai Multimedia and Corey Graham 2.0 of Drenalin Productions. (more here)

The idea for the project came when I opened my mouth at the Crop Over Stakeholders session expressing how important it is for us to stream live events of the Crop Over Festival so that potential patrons and press can see the festival first had. Now to make a long story short, I got a call one morning asking just how streaming works. That planted the seed in my mind.
After talking to the others listed above it seemed like I wasn't the only one thinking about such a project.

We started to put things in place to make it happen, but once we 'soft launched' the domain It took off and we are streaming.

Look out for us being a part of the solution this Crop Over Season.
